Northeast Tennessee's Premier Aviation Community

TV News Video, March 07 (Filesize: 8.6 MB, WMV Format)

Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in an unspoiled area - a relaxing lifestyle awaits those who yearn to own a small piece of heaven.

Enjoy the towering mountains, rolling foothills, open farmland, clean-running streams, and friendly neighbors - all while living with your plane. This Airpark Community has been planned with the flying family in mind. Just minutes by car to everything you could need - the homesites are arranged so that everyone has access to the private paved 3000', with lots range from 1 acre up to about 2 1/2 acres.

Being a native of East Tennessee (51 years so far!), I am always curious why folks choose this area to settle down in. Whether they are retiring here, or bringing their young families to raise, I always ask, "Why East Tennessee?". Here are a few of the responses I hear repeated so often:

*The people here are so friendly.
*There are four distinct seasons, but you do not have weather extremes. (We average 10 days or less above 90 degrees in summer. Our snowfall is usually an inch or two which might last on the ground for a day or two. We have enough rain year-round to keep everything green. No hurricanes as the mountains protect us.)
*Tennessee has low property taxes, no State Income Tax, and no Personal Property Tax. "Tennessee was recently ranked Number 50th (out of 50 States!) in per-capita taxation - a number we are very pleased with.
*The area is still rural, which means a sense of community, neighbor helping neighbor, that sort of thing. We still wave at strangers we pass along the country roads. We also stop our cars, regardless of the time, for all funeral processions. Just a moment of respect for our fellow man.
*We don't sit in traffic along our roads, even the busy 11-E Highway (though Friday afternoons seem a little rushed!).
*We have all the modern conveniences here. Almost every road in the county is paved, has utility water, power, phone, and most recently - Adelphia Cable, which provides cable TV and high-speed modem service. Also, the whole area is covered by Verizon Wireless for your cell service.
*There are lots of State Parks, Federal Parks, and TVA Lakes - all good for hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, 4-wheeling, hiking, or other outdoor activities.
*This area has good sized towns located just 20 miles or so apart in any direction.
*East Tennessee has a diversity of vacation type activities for visitors to enjoy - from The Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge, NASCAR at Bristol, Storytelling at Jonesboro, Knoxville Symphony, Zoos, Aquariums, Blue-Grass Music - the list goes on.
*East Tennessee is geographically well located. Being central to the East Coast, it is an easy days drive to Florida or New York from here.
*We have great medical facilities and doctors. East Tennessee State University has a medical school which is also associated with the regions only VA Hospital. This has resulted in the area being a 'corridor' for medical needs.
*Great area for hobbies - from numerous popular golf courses, to Tennessee Walking Horse exhibitions - we have it right here. Additionally, we have an active EAA group based in nearby Greeneville and gather monthly for various activities, such as the Young Eagles Program, etc."

My suggestion is that you give me a call, fly over here, and check it all out for yourself. You will find that what all these folks say about our area is true!
